Since the incident with Magneto, the Mutants are more exposed that ever before, but that brings a great opportunity to new mutants to join the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, and finally fit in a place and call it home, there has been times of peace for the mutants (they couldn’t participate in the invasion of New York due to privacy conflicts with SHIELD). But that peace will be interrupted by Nathaniel Essex (Mr. Sinister), a genetically-altered human whom effectively becomes a mutant himself due to his own genetic manipulation, becoming really powerful.
