When Dirk Garthwaite is proposed by Dr. Eliot Franklin in jail and asks him to retrieve a gamma bomb that Eliot had designed, with the intention of collecting the New York ransom for millions of dollars. Dirk during a thunderstorm tells Franklin and his fellow prisoners Henry Camp and Brian Calusky to grab a gun and start the escape. Lightning strikes a lever that Dirk was carrying and mysteriously giving the four of them super strength, endurance, or speed. They immediately escape from prison and begin the search for the gamma bomb. Just after Jessica Jones together with Trish they investigate the case of Dirk, and his escape. While the Heroes for Hire upon learning of this leak decide to search for Dirk and his team knowing how dangerous they can be for the city. Daredevil must fight them by finding them in a building in hell’s kitchen where the gamma bomb was found, leaving Matt badly hurt who is helped by Claire Temple who calls Jessica and the HfH, so that together they arrest the Demolition Brigade.
